Life on the outside can be tough for ex-inmates, as they struggle to find jobs, housing, and readjust to everyday experiences.

Some states are considering freeing prisoners ahead of schedule to save billions of budget dollars. But if more prisoners leave jail sooner, what will be the impact on re-entry and rehabilitation resources?

Farai Chideya talks with Melissa Bradley — president of the Re-entry Strategies Institute — and Jason Sole, a re-entry services associate at AMICUS, a Minnesota-based nonprofit that helps inmates and ex-offenders.
